Lachman, Leth Jans crowned Most Glorious as ownership speculation continues

Perth Glory’s Daryl Lachman and Mie Leth Jans have taken out the the top gong at Perth Glory’s Most Glorious player awards, despite speculation surrounding the future of the club continuing.

Curacaoan international, Lachman capped off superb individual season in the A-League Men’s competition picking up the Player’s Player, Member’s Player and the coveted Most Glorious Player (MGP) award.

Also amongst the awards was Bruno Fornaroli (Golden Boot) Antonee Burke-Gilroy for goal of the year (Round 3 v Melbourne Victory) whilst young-gun Giordano Colli picked up the Dylan Tombides award for the best young player. Retiring Striker Andy Keogh was awarded life membership following his 155 game career in purple that included 59 goals.

Danish import Mie Leth Jans took out the women’s Most Glorious award, following a solid season amidst difficult conditions for the Alex Epakis coached team. Fan favourite and Glory stalwart Tash Rigby took out the women’s Player’s Player award with American import Cyera Hintzen claiming the women’s golden boot award for the most goals in season 2022.

In the traditional Chairman’s address, Tony Sage opened the proceedings covering many issues including the news of a new investor likely to inject the club with a sum of $30m.

Also mentioned was the issues surrounding the season including the difficult times endured by promising, prize recruit Daniel Sturridge which evidentially lead to little output by the former Liverpool and Chelsea man.

Matters regarding a future coaching appointment were also addressed, and despite Sage mentioning he’s preference for Ruben Zadkovich to take on the role full time, Glory fans may have to wait a little longer for news of a permanent appointment.

Fans may also have to wait to see what the future ownership structure of the Perth Glory looks like, with Sage also revealing the Keogh family have bought a small share in the club, although rumours and speculation of a potential majority take over were the talk of the evening are still to be put entirely to bed.
