DT38 logo to adorn West Ham’s playing kit in Perth

West Ham United’s principal partner Betway has donated its advertising space to the DT38 Foundation for the two upcoming games in Perth.

The Hammers’ new home shirt, complete with DT38 logo, was unveiled today at a community training session featuring youngsters from Stirling Macedonia, Perth Soccer Club, and Wembley Downs.

It will be worn against Perth Glory on Saturday night and Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday at Optus Stadium.

DT38 is the charity set up to commemorate the late Dylan Tombides who rose through the ranks at West Ham before passing away from testicular cancer in 2014, aged just 20.

Dylan’s brother, Taylor, joined first team player Flynn Downes and tour ambassador Carlton Cole to present the shirt at Macedonia Park.

Earlier in the day, West Ham’s first team squad wore shirts with the DT38 logo and ‘Tombides 38’ during a well-attended open training session.

“We’re very happy to be donating our front our shirt branding to DT38; an incredible charity that raises valuable awareness for testicular cancer, for West Ham United’s upcoming pre-season tour of Australia,” said Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway.

“We’ve been a big supporter of DT38 over the years, but to be able to donate our front of shirt branding that will help them raise further awareness on the other side of the world, is a privilege for us.

“We would also like to wish our partner West Ham United the best of luck in their pre-season tour and for the season ahead.”

The DT38 Foundation was set up in 2015 to commemorate Dylan’s life and also to raise more awareness about testicular cancer in both Australia and England.

“We would like to acknowledge the unwavering support that Betway continues to afford DT38 with such a prominent opportunity to raise awareness for the early detection of testicular cancer and of course our amazing Principal Charity Partner West Ham United,” said Tracylee Tombides, DT38 Founder.

“The Hammers family have always found ways to honour Dylan’s legacy.”

A statue of Dylan stands proudly outside HBF Park in Perth and his number 38 is one of only two retired by West Ham, the other being the great Bobby Moore’s number 6.
