Far Post Perth supports the World’s Greatest Shave

The World’s Greatest Shave is an event that takes place in March each year to raise awareness around blood cancers and much needed funds for research.

Far Post Perth’s own Jaxon Bassett is taking part in 2022’s Leukaemia Foundation initiative in memory of a much loved relative.

David Schrandt played as a goalkeeper and a striker with Morley Windmills and East Fremantle Tricolore before taking up an administration role upon his retirement.

He ran the Professional Soccer Federation and Soccer West Coast as President, and has been inducted into the WA Football Hall of Fame.

The David Schrandt Administrator and Volunteer of the Year accolade is now part of the annual WA Football Awards.

“I am raising money in honour of my grandfather,” says Jaxon. “He passed away due to leukaemia 15 years ago at the age of 61.

“He was heavily involved in WA’s football (soccer) community. My love of the sport comes from him and because of this, I will be colouring my hair in the purple of the Perth Glory.

“Every donation is greatly appreciated. Your support will go a long way to continue funding vital research to help more people survive blood cancers.”

If you have a few dollars to spare, you can sponsor Jaxon via his World’s Greatest Shave page located here.
